Register of Members' Financial Interests
Update 07/05/2026: We are now retrospectively retrieving all registers for the current parliament. Prior to this date we were simply retrieving the latest register on a weekly basis but this is not sufficient as interests drop off the register 12 months after they expire.
MPs registered interests
The Register of Members' Interests, formally the Register of Members' Financial Interests, is a publicly available record of any financial interest or benefit received by a Member of Parliament that could reasonably be thought to influence their actions or words in the House of Commons. MPs are legally required to declare any new interest within 28 days of it arising, and the register is updated fortnightly by the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards.
The register of members' interests spans ten categories, including second jobs and outside earnings, gifts and hospitality, overseas visits, property and land, and shareholdings. MPs' outside earnings, including second jobs, consultancy roles and directorships, must be declared once total payments from a single source exceed £300 in a calendar year. Not all declared interests involve cash payments; many entries record benefits in kind such as hospitality or travel, which may or may not carry a stated monetary value.
The data on this page is sourced directly from parliament.uk and covers all entries in the register of members' interests since the current parliament began in July 2024. Totals reflect declared values only - interests registered without a stated monetary value are excluded from aggregated figures. All data is presented as declared; MPData does not editorially assess whether any interest represents a conflict.
